My first sale

I thank everyone for following my Blog. Tuesday I sold this original watercolor.  You don't know how exciting it was for me.  It is the first I have sold at the Gallery in Manson. I hope that it is the first of many. 

I have committed to working every Thursday at the Gallery.  I will have things for sale at the farmers market on Thursdays, but will be working at the Gallery instead.  Sooooooooo  you can come visit me on Thursdays in Manson or see some of my art at the farmers market.  I am working on greeting cards and hope to have some done for both venues.

I am very excited.  A group of us from the Chelan Art Alliance are going to display our art in Manson at the professional building.  What a wonderful place for us to display our art.   It will be for sale also. Above is one of the pictures that will be on display. 

The Easter Girl

This is my granddaughter at Easter some years ago.  I wish that it looked like her, but alas it doesn't.  It was my first attempt at people and I hope to get better.

I am working very hard to get better and maybe someday I will be able to paint a picture that actually looks like the model.

A litte about me.

As a 9^th grader, Carol Jenkins was told not to take any art classes in high school because wasn’t an artist.  Believing the teacher, she did not pursue any other art classes for a rather long time.

In her fifties, someone told Carol she could draw and encouraged her to give it a try.  She did and has been drawing ever since.  Carol stared with pencil drawings and even took a drawing class at Wenatchee Valley College.  A friend introduced her to watercolor and from there she has gone on to watercolor, watercolor pencils, and colored pencils.  She has taken some classes from local artists but for the most part is self taught.

Enjoy her art and her art style. 

Red Delicious watercolor

We live in apple and wine country.  We farm apples and they are something that I love to paint. Apples have become a crop that farmers have more then one variety.  We grow, Reds, Gala, Fugi, and Granny Smiths. There are many kinds of apples but Red Delicious is one of the oldest varieties that we have grown, and the one that I enjoy drawing and painting.
